I can’t lie, math isn’t the most entertaining subject out there. I remember saying to myself how boring geometry was when I was a first year teacher; and if I thought geometry was boring, could you imagine how my students felt? Exactly! After my first year, it became my mission to make math as “painless” as possible; and while I’m still stumped on keeping everyone engaged for geometric proofs, I’ve become pretty successful with creating a fun and less painful environment in my math classes.

Believe it or not, my students and I began to have more fun in the classroom when I started to veer away from the traditional worksheets and replaced them with activities that provided the same outcome as completing a worksheet but through a different process. My students were still getting a lot of practice time in the classroom, but I presented the work in the form of fun engaging activities that are listed below.
